Don’t let Shorty’s size fool you—he may be the smallest goat at Animal Haven of Asheville, but his personality is larger than life! Shorty’s journey to our sanctuary started in a nearby mountaintop community, where he was abandoned and left to fend for himself. Thankfully, caring neighbors called us to find a safe home for him, and that’s how Shorty became part of our growing goat family.

As a Pygmy goat, Shorty might be small in stature, but he more than makes up for it with his boundless energy and heart. From the moment he arrived, Shorty’s huge personality was on full display. He’s always the center of attention, not because of his size, but because of his fearless, spirited nature. Whether he’s head-butting larger goats or leading the pack with his playful leaps, Shorty proves that being small gives you a unique perspective on life—he’s always looking up and tackling every challenge with heart and humor.
