Nicholas and Mistletoe, a sweet brother and sister pair, were the final rescues of our cherished founder, Barb Bellows. Saving them was her last wish, and we were determined to keep that promise. They were found in the freezing weather on a mountain in West Asheville, injured and struggling to survive. When they finally arrived at Animal Haven, both were in dire need of care. With patience, love, and time, they healed and began to trust again.

Today, Nick and Misti are inseparable, grazing side by side and often found resting together in the sun. They adore the devoted volunteers who have treated them exactly as they deserve. Their story is one of resilience, love, and legacy, a living tribute to Barb’s compassionate heart.
