Meet the sheep

Middy and Marge came to us from an elderly couple. When the husband got ill she could no longer care for them. Note not all residents are pictured

Nicholas (pictured) and Mistletoe were our holiday miracle. During the intense cold snap at the end of 2022 we received information that two sheep had been abandoned in an upscale mountain community. Both were starving and Nicholas was wounded. The temperatures were dangerously low and they were not expected to make it much longer. Volunteers worked tirelessly to catch the frightened sheep and bring them to a warm barn with as much food as they could eat. It took us a few days but they made it home.

As lambs Penelope and Kevin were in a Christmas Nativity play. The church took pity on them knowing they would soon be slaughtered and purchased them. They were brought to us as lambs. The are some of the lucky ones. Penelope has pink hooves and Kevin is slightly larger with a black tinge to his hooves.

Meet our Cow

Tulsi is our lone cow at this time. We don’t have a clear picture of her history. We were told that she was raised as a pet. However there is evidence of an ear tag which means she was in the livestock industry at one time. She was surrendered to us because they were no longer able to care for her. When we received her she was underweight and being kept in a muddy enclosure.
